Nate I take great offense to this post and your insinuation that you are not receiving free speech.

As a few posters on this site know (some came from 285b) I was a moderator there for years. Free speech and posters not being banned is a very big priority to me. I feel my processes on moderation are very consistent. In fact I have had a few complaints that I am too lenient.

So, here is the problem. This website is a community website. It is not set up for continual attacks on other posters, gays and lesbians, etc. Especially the frequency of the attacks. The soapbox is about controversy and mostly political. I was unable to count how many times you used the words scum, gay and lesbian scum, talking about beating people in front of their family etc. in your posts that you are complaining about, we were able to approve some that were actually about the discussion but there were just too many.

I don't know if anyone here remembers Teddy from 285b but we had the same problem we started to lose users. This is a business and we just cannot allow hate speech. Also, it affects the readability of the board.

I am all about free speech so I would like to leave this open for comments from the other board members. Personally, I think you should go to the board that is set up for this that you frequent with hate speech. I believe in free speech but this is a community website and a business. It just is not set for that sort of discussion over and over and over and with such frequency.

I think we just wanted to be transparent here because of all the issues with Pinecam.

If you do not moderate a forum, it is likely to be overwhelmed with spam – this is the primary reason why we ensure all the forums have some degree of moderation. The vision and mission of this site is to bring the community together and have a special place to do that. We moderate only to protect our members and the site from harm.

Having a post naturally go off topic is rarely a problem, that is the nature of a forum. However, having a post on 30%-50% or more of all posts about the topics we mentioned above over and over disrupts the whole site and makes it difficult to have any conversation.

Because of the pinecam problems we wanted to let the members air any issues they may have and especially when we were accused of not allowing free speech. Nate your views have been allowed on a couple of specific threads and they need to stay on those threads. I don't think our audience wants to cover it over and over and read it on threads that have nothing to do with those views.

This is about organization of the forum not about you being a conservative.

I don't align myself with the losers on that site. I am a nationalist like Golden Dawn, BNP and Jobbik. So why would I go back there and hang with redneck trash who serve no purpose. As business that posts on this site I am Thankful that they keep the trash talk to a minimum if you want to vent then post it in the ring but I have seen that go south also.

Agreed. There are times when a ban is necessary even when you strive to be the site that does not ban. I am pretty sure everyone here would understand it in this case.
