My art interests started by making cabinet knobs. You will still see one or two on my site but my interets have expanded. This all started by stopping at a kitchen store to ask if they had an old cabinet door they no longer needed so I could display my knobs on it. They called the next day with about 15 doors and I thanked them, smiled politely and had no idea what I would do with them. We do have a woodstove in the kitchen but that seemed rather wasteful. Besides, the finish on a cabinet door is pretty much bullit proof, even for burning.
If you look at a lot of my work, you will see exactly what I did with them. I just keep colecting more doors and and getting more creative. I also have logs I'm working with from the log home builder down the road.
Hand Carved Wood Mirrors has become my passion. Once I rescue a cabinet door or log I fine tune it to near perfection. I then add a 1/4 inch mirror and my hand carved wood designs. They also have metal work on them that adds even more luster to the piece. I love the look of wood and metel together. Please check out my shop to see these handmade treasures.
