These Gas Prices Remind Me Of The Bush Years

Post by The Mirror »

These gas prices remind me of The Great Recession when there was sharp decline in economic activity, the most significant downturn since the Great Depression.. At least this time the presidents economic policies weren't at fault. We've been hit by a double whammy of a pandemic and a war but it's nice that wages and benefits are way up and the economy is breaking all time records so this doesn't hurt nearly as bad as the Great Republican recession did. That was devastating to average Americans

Statistics from the U.S. Energy Information Administration: During the past 20 years, the highest gas prices occurred in July 2008, during the Bush administration. The current gas prices aren't that high, but they do remind me of those dark days

Both gas and crude oil broke those all time highs from the Bush era. It’s much higher now than it was then. I’m thinking we might see a similar real estate crash also. If so, I’m ready to swoop in and pick up cheap repossessed properties and kick the lazy defaulters to the curb!

Wait until the stagflation of the Carter Era returns. Biden isn't helping gas prices by making it harder to drill domestically, but OPEC has much more say about what the price of oil will be.

You are the giant oil companies useful idiot- The cost of renewable energy has gone down 2% since the war started, and it keeps going down as we produce more of it

I think if we don't use it as much for fuel there will be plenty for everything else-

And stupid America turns 20% of the corn crop into Ethanol for cars. If I was President, I would shut down that program right now. There are about to be several food shortages around the world and we don't need to burn corn idling at intersections.
