A study of more than 100,00 Americans found an unexpected connection between high consumption of citrus and the risk of suffering from melanoma, a dangerous form of skin cancer, according to The Washington Post.
The report especially flagged people who consume large amounts of whole grapefruit and orange juice.
The study, published Monday in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, found that 1,840 of the participants developed melanoma, and there was a 36 percent higher risk of the cancer for people who had a serving of citrus fruit or juice 1.6 times daily than compared to those who had it less than two times a week.

Citrus consumption linked to melanoma
Re: Citrus consumption linked to melanoma
In the end I wonder if this reflects poorly on citrus fruit, or if perhaps it's actually reflecting poorly on how they've been cultivated, or the impact of sprays applied, etc.
