PSA launches affordable Freedom series AR rifles

Post by Grady »

Palmetto State Armory is now offering its inexpensive Freedom series rifles. These capable rifles are being offered by themselves and in combo packs that can’t be beat in terms of bang-for-your-buck. PSA has been selling stripped and complete lowers and complete rifles for ages but this is the company’s first in-house brand rifle series.

Freedom Carbines are mid-length AR-15-pattern rifles chambered for 5.56 NATO with a starting price of just $549. Bundles aside, they’re offered in two basic configurations with the choice of A2 or Magpul MOE furniture. The MOE carbine costs just $50 more at $599

Some good prices there. I will wait for a couple reviews however.

A buddy uses a PSA 16" upper in 5.56 with a DPMS lower and it seems to be a very solid runner. Was running a bolt assembly and charging handle by Colt at one time with no issues, so that was also a plus.

I'm sure I have a pic of this within 'group shots' of our rigs. His is a mix of FDE and black, also has a Rock River in what we refer to as 'ACU dark' because its in OD, FDE and black. (Looks good actually.) Personally I've always kept things simple in black and grey, with attention to quality over quantity.

Point is, given some offhand experience with PSA if they're going this route, I'll say they've peaked my interest given what I've witnessed on the range already.

Now if anyone wants to discuss 6.8spc let me know. Been running a proven and effective set up at many altitudes, barometers, weather conditions, sand, snow, weeds, brush, pine tar, you name it. She's never let me down and always out performs my 5.56 brethren in all categories with the exception of load weight. :woo hoo:
