LONGMONT, Colo. — An Amber Alert has been issued, as police look for a man who they said shot his estranged wife with a stun gun, sprayed pepper spray in her face, and then kidnapped their 3-year-old son, Luke Turner.

Police said Monty Turner, 51, broke into his estranged wife’s home, and took their son just lukeafter 10 a.m. Saturday from the 700 block of Eldora Place. Longmont Police Cmdr. Jeff Satur said the boy’s father was last seen riding a bike with his son going eastbound on Mountain View Ave. from Independence Drive.

Longmont Police Commander Jeffrey M. Satur said that police have strong information to believe Monty is driving a white, four-door 1999 Chrysler 300, with Colorado license plate 161-ZXZ.

This is not an abduction or a "kidnapping", the Father has the child. I don't care what it says on a court order, a father cannot kidnap his own child. I'd help the poor bastards if I saw them.. Even the wife said "well, I don't think he'd hurt him"...Yeah no shit!

The boy’s noncustodial father, 51-year-old Monty Turner, was arrested after being found with his son at a motel in Brandon, a town in Manitoba, Canada.


Longmont police believe Monty Turner kidnapped his son from his estranged wife’s home in the 700 block of Eldora Place Saturday morning. He waited in the garage of the home for hours, watching Luke and his mother through holes drilled in the wall. He finally sprang out around 10 a.m., assaulted his wife and fled with his son, police said.

I used to react this way to these cases too. This guy was definately wrapped too tight,
allegedly attacking the mother with a stun gun and pepper spray in her eyes. The clip shows the holes he drilled in the garage to spy through, so his goose is cooked.

Don't forget either the mounting number of women, and kids, who have died at the hands of
an emotional father.

Its still not the same as a stranger abduction and they've deluted the effect of the Amber Alert by issueing this one. Its the first one I ever got on my smart phone and I thought a Tornado was about to descend on me or something, it really got my attention.

What this guy doesn't know was that kids grow up fast, the boy was gonna be a teeanger real soon and could choose whomever he wants to live with...And of course a son is gonna want to go live with his father. He should have let the mom do all the dirty work now, then get the kid when he's old enough to be fun- old enough to fish and hunt with, and go to ballgames with...He really screwed up.

Yes you can kidnap the child if you don't have 24/7 custody. They guy assaulted the mother and took off with the child. That means he was in danger. Mirror, no offense but BTH?

If the mother was pepper sprayed and then hit with a stun gun, then I would call that taken by force. She could have been killed. The father is obviously capable of anything at that point. Maybe a different classification of alert should be made. About 50% of amber alerts are abductions by family members and only 30% by strangers. The other 20% are not abductions at all.

When someone assaults the mother that could put the child in danger of being killed too just to piss off the mother. It has happened a million times. When a parent is desperate they could do anything.

I have to agree with the mirror in part. There are parental abductions where the kids are hurt so the Amber alert was appropriate. However the guy really screwed up.

Regardless of how wronged he felt, or was convinced that his ex was a lying conniving B^*%(. He should have played by the rules and kept his nose clean and kept his legal options open. Instead of having a chance to see his kid and maybe eventually get some visitation or custody. He'll likely never see his kid until the kid turn 18 and then only if the kids visits him in prison. He'll sit his ass in prison knowing that some other guy is spending time with his kid and doing all the things he thought he was going to do with his son.

I am not across the board okay with men not being able to see their kids but in this case. The guy took off with the child for 8 months then assaulted the mother that is a HUGE concern. I do think men are treated unfairly in many cases so I am not painting with a broad brush. He is showing some mental issues but I don't know the whole story.
